Creston Police Chief Cameron Hale advised officers responded to 128 calls for service in Creston from Monday, May 4 through Sunday, May 10. These calls included multiple accidents with property damage, animal calls, requests for extra patrol, funeral escorts, thefts and welfare checks.
Creston Police made 51 traffic stops during the reporting period, writing 12 citations. As a result of these traffic stops, five individuals were taken into custody. A total of nine arrests were made during the reporting period.
Hale said there were no major incidents requiring additional public notification.
Officers participated in planning committee meetings, MJET training, did a hospital walk through, attended the Southwestern Community College Commencement Ceremony and Market on Maple. Officers also took part in K-9 training.
“The Creston Police Department remains committed to serving our community with professionalism, fairness and respect. We encourage residents to report suspicious activity and continue working with us to keep Creston a safe place to live and work,” Hale said.
