Rhonda J. Thompson, 56, of Lenox, was taken into custody April 17, at the Adams County Jail on a Union County Warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Union County District Court document, Thompson was ordered to appear in court Feb. 6 for sentencing on the original charge and did not.
Thompson was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance for a medical emergency.

Jacob M. Erskine, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody April 19, at Division and Adams streets on the charges of OWI, second offense and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 1:53 a.m. an unknown year Chevrolet S10 was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Erskine, who admitted to having a suspended license, which was confirmed by deputies.
Erskine also told deputies that there was a THC cartridge in the truck which was located during a subsequent probable cause search. Deputies asked Erskine when he last used marijuana and he stated he had smoked a couple hours prior to the stop. A faint odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from his breath.
Erskine consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. He refused a PBT. He was transported to the Union County Law Enforcement Center where he consented to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing. The test result indicated his BAC to be .075%. He refused to provide a urine sample for testing. During an interview he admitted to deputies to having had a few shots of Crown Royal and smoking marijuana.
Erskine has a prior OWI conviction from June 2025 in Union County.
Erskine was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $3,000 cash or surety bond.

Evan G. Benton, 27, of Lorimor, was taken into custody April 19, at 195th Street and Pole Road and the charge of OWI, first offense and possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at 5:06 p.m. a 1998 Chevrolet truck was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Benton, and the odor of marijuana was detected coming from the truck. Benton was observed to have bloodshot eyes and raised heat bumps on the back of his tongue.
What appeared to be a THC vape pen was observed in the passenger seat. Benton admitted to having a joint in the truck and said he had last smoked marijuana approximately four hours prior to the stop. A THC vape pen and burnt marijuana roach were located in the truck during a probable cause search.
Benton consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. He refused to provide a urine sample for chemical testing.
Benton was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $2,000 cash or surety bond.

Justin A. Miller, 41, of Corning, was taken into custody April 17, at Jarvis and Howard streets on the charge of possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 6:56 p.m. an unknown year Chevrolet truck was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Miller. While speaking to Miller, deputies detected the odor of marijuana coming from the truck. Miller admitted to having marijuana in the truck and to having just smoked marijuana. He stated the smell was probably on his clothing as well.
A probable cause search of the truck resulted in locating three burnt marijuana roaches and two THC vapes, all of which Miller took ownership of.
Miller consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. A PBT indicated his BrAC to be 0.00%. Miller provided a urine sample for chemical testing.
Miller was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Chasidy L. Roberts, 43, of Creston, was taken into custody April 16, at Park and Kirby streets on the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 9:43 p.m. a 2012 Hyundai Elantra was stopped for a traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Roberts, who had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath.
Roberts admitted to drinking two or three “tall boy” beers and there was an open can found in the Elantra. She consented to field sobriety testing and showed validated clues of impairment. A PBT showed her BrAC to be above .08%. She refused to provide a breath specimen for chemical testing.
Roberts was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
