Accident: Two trucks meet and collide at curve

No injuries were reported Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Union County.

According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 12:42 p.m. a 2012 Dodge Ram, driven by Chester A. Packnett, 28, of Afton, was westbound on 130th Street navigating a curve to go southbound on Quail Avenue. At the same time, a 1994 Chevrolet truck, driven by Cameron A. LaCoursiere, 19, of Plymouth, Illinois, was northbound on Quail Avenue navigating the same curve to go eastbound on 130th Street.

As the Chevrolet was traveling around the curve, it crossed the center of the road and struck the Dodge, forcing it off the roadway west of the curve where it came to rest.

Damages to the Dodge and the Chevrolet were estimated at $5,000 each.
