Since 1993, area residents have been turning to South Central Iowa Community Foundation (SCICF) to make their philanthropic giving as effective as possible. SCICF is a public charity serving thousands of people who share a common concern – improving the quality of life in Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold and Union counties in south central Iowa.
Individuals, families, businesses and organizations create permanent charitable funds that help the region meet the challenges of changing times. The foundation invests and administers these funds. SCICF then uses the distributions to award more than $1,000,000 in grants each year to many of the humanitarian, educational and cultural organizations in this remarkable place we call home.
2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the beginning of SCICF. Several activities are planned throughout the year to celebrate this milestone.
