The Creston boys tennis team gained its first victory of the season at home Friday over Audubon, 7-2.
Lucas Rushing and Gavin Millslagle each won in singles and teamed up for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers, now 1-2. Carson Cooper won at No. 5 singles and paired with Spencer Brown for an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Damion Meyer was also a singles winners for the Panthers. Senior Conner Wiley, hampered by an elbow injury, did not play doubles after falling 8-4 in No. 1 singles.
The teams matched up in six singles matches and four extra doubles matches in JV play.
“Today was a meet that we added after losing a tournament on our schedule,” Creston coach Kevin Cooper said. “It was great to get out and play on a nice day. Audubon is a younger team with very good numbers. It was awesome that all of our kids were able to play two matches each today.”
Creston boys travel to Southwest Valley today (Monday) while the Panther girls host the same matchup.
