Shelby N. Sheppard, 29, of Mount Ayr, was taken into custody April 20, on Dallas County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of violation of probation.
According to a Dallas County District Court document Sheppard was ordered to appear in court April 3 for a hearing on the original charge and did not.
Sheppard was transported to the Clarke County Jail where she was released to the custody of Dallas County.

Alexander Ramirez, 19, of Creston, was taken into custody April 20 for the charges of driving while suspended and person under 21 using tobacco/vapor product, first offense.
According to Creston Police reports, Ramirez was driving a 2002 Jeep Wrangler on Sycamore Street and was found to have a suspended driver’s license. During the traffic stop, a tobacco product was discovered in his possession.
Ramirez was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

Carrie A. Johns, 51, of Creston, was taken into custody April 21 on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.
According to a Department of Correctional Services violation report, Johns was received a suspended sentence with two years of probation April 25, 2025, after being convicted of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver - methamphetamine, less than 5 grams.
Johns reportedly violated the terms of her probation beginning in June 2025 with a urinalysis testing positive for methamphetamine. Two more urinalysis tests were positive for methamphetamine in August and September. In January, Johns self-reported methamphetamine use. She has missed multiple scheduled probation appointments and has not complied with treatment and therapy as ordered by the court.
Johns was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Emily R. M. Dorhn, 23, of Creston, was taken into custody April 20 on the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to a Creston Police report, a 2006 Saturn Ion was observed at a city park after park hours. Consent to search the vehicle was given and a grinder with a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana was located where Dohrn was sitting. Dohrn stated the item was hers.
Dohrn was cited and released at the scene on a summons to appear.

Valen R. McKown, 28, of Creston, was taken into custody April 23 on a Union County warrant for the charge of violation of probation.
According to a Department of Correctional Services violation report, McKown received a partially suspended sentence Dec. 20, 2024, with one year of probation after being convicted of OWI, second offense.
McKown reportedly violated the terms of her probation March 12, when she failed to report for her scheduled probation appointment . The appointment letter sent to McKown’s last known address, however it was returned as not deliverable as addressed.
McKown was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from on her own recognizance on a promise to appear.
