A Creston woman hit a house Tuesday afternoon while attempting to park her car.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:05 p.m. a Nickie R. Stovie, 61, of Creston, was attempting to park a 2012 Suzuki SX4 in the Summit House parking lot on Maple Street when the car went over the curb, down a hill a hit a home at 505 N. Maple St.
While speaking with Stovie officer’s detected the odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Initially, Stovie told officers she had not been drinking but then said she had. A empty Fireball shooter was found under the driver’s seat.
A PBT showed her BAC to be under .08%.
Stovie was cited for open container and failure to maintain control.
Damage to the Suzuki was estimated at $6,000 and damage to the residence was estimated at $4,000.

Winter road conditions led to a one-vehicle accident in Union County Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Union County Sheriff’s Office report, at approximately 1:08 p.m. a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Melissa Cruz, 39, of Creston, was eastbound on 160th Street.
While negotiating an icy and snow-covered curve, Cruz lost control of the Jeep and it slid into the south ditch where it hit trees.
Damage to the Jeep was estimated at $10,000.
