Michael D. Johns, 46, of Creston, was taken into custody 6:53 p.m. April 9 at Sumner and Townline streets on a Department of Corrections warrant for the charge of violation of parole.

According to a Department of Corrections Division of Community Corrections report, Johns violated the conditions of his parole due to lacking stable employment; failing to show up for three impatient treatment bed openings after treatment was recommended and ordered; failing to reside at the residence approved by parole and associating with an individual also on parole who was not approved; providing eight positive drug screenings for methamphetamines since March 30, 2023, and discontinuing outpatient treatment.

Johns was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond.
