Terry L. Kelley, 55, of Creston, was taken into custody 3:04 a.m. March 15 at his residence on the charge of domestic abuse assault, first offense.

According to a Creston Police report, officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of West Lucas Street for a domestic incident. All parties were separated by law enforcement. A male, identified as Kelley, stated he got into an argument with two females for not taking care of another male who lives at the residence. He stated it began as a verbal altercation but then he was told he was going to get hit with a pot, then was hit over the head causing a laceration. He then saw one of the females with a firearm at her side, which broke up the fight. He later stated he went into the bathroom and argued with the female.

One of the females told officers Kelley had been at the bar which started a verbal altercation. She said she went into the bathroom to separate herself and take a bath but Kelley came in and continued to fight. She got out of the tub and told Kelley to leave. While in the hallway the female was shoved by Kelley against the washer and dryer. Officers noted the appliances appeared to have been moved during some sort of altercation and had water on and around them. The female then grabbed a pan from the counter and struck Kelley over the head, which caused him to let go of her.

A short time later the female heard her sister yelling, so she exited the bedroom holding a pistol down by her side to break up Kelley and her sister fighting. The female did have a faint mark on the inside of her bicep.

The second female stated Kelley had cut her arm with a pair of scissors and a vertical laceration was observed on her arm. The second female said she also struck Kelley with a pot, which was later located in the females bedroom area.

Kelley was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until seen by a judge.
