LETTER: The best candidate for governor is Brad Sherman

The next primary is sneaking up on us, and there are several Republican choices for governor. Personally, I prefer someone who loves Jesus and will uphold the Constitution, without compromising. I believe the best candidate for governor is Brad Sherman.

Brad Sherman was the leading voice against the Satanic altar on display in the Iowa Capitol. Seeing that Jesus is number one in my life, I firmly believe that is extremely important, and it tells me a lot about him. He’s not a coward, and he has a backbone.

My husband and I are pro-Second Amendment and very passionate about the evils of abortion. Brad agrees. We also believe that education is the parents’ responsibility (Proverbs 22:6), whether that’s at home, hiring a tutor or something else; we chose home education. Brad Sherman supports parents’ decisions about deciding what is best for their children’s education; all his grandchildren currently are or have been homeschooled.

Brad wrote a booklet called “The Freedom Quiz.” I encourage all adults and kids to get a copy. Being a homeschool mom, I quickly snatched up a copy of this booklet when I saw it; I particularly like question #10. The first time I met Brad Sherman he said something like, “If it’s in the Constitution, that’s what I want.” I agree wholeheartedly. We’re a Constitutional Republic (question #8 in the booklet), so it’s my responsibility as a citizen to vote for someone who will uphold the Constitution, without backing down. If our children and grandchildren are going to have a bright future, we must vote for leaders who will follow the Constitution without compromise, and Brad Sherman will be that kind of leader.
