Jaye Sprague, 55, of Creston, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Greater Regional Health in Creston.

Jaye Sprague, 55, of Creston, died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Brian Campbell will officiate. Services will be livestreamed. Burial will be in Grove Chapel Cemetery at a later date. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 19.

Jaye Anne (Jones) Sprague was born Oct. 7, 1970, to Roger Leon Jones and Linda Elaine (Patton) Jones in Creston. She grew up in Creston, graduating from Creston High School in 1989. Jaye was a lifetime resident of Creston.

She was united in marriage to Robert Eugene “Bob” Fry Oct. 12, 1991, in Creston. Bob passed away in 2003. Jaye worked at Bunn-O-Matic on the assembly line for 30 years, beginning Sept. 5, 1993.

In 2005, Jaye met Terry Sprague, and from this union came a daughter, Elizabeth Elaine. Terry and Jaye were united in marriage July 6, 2017, at the Adair County Courthouse.

Jaye was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the Creston Eagle’s Club, loved baking, reading mystery and romance novels and going on girls’ trips. She also loved painting ceramics, enjoyed porch parties, crocheting, gardening her flowers and riding motorcycles.

Jaye is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Sprague of Creston; her brothers: Rod Stockberger of West Des Moines, Les (Niki) Jones of Creston and Darren (Tawnya) Jones of Creston; her sisters, Ginger Woodhull of Des Moines and Jodi (Jon) Steffen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Jones and Linda Crawford; husbands Bob Fry in 2003 and Terry Sprague in 2025; stepson Nick Sprague in 2016 and her nephew Emmett Lewis in 2020.
