Dennis “Denny” Quam, 63, of Creston, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Greater Regional Health in Creston.

Dennis “Denny” Quam, 63, of Creston, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Services will be livestreamed. Pastor David Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends 4-7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Dennis Dean Quam was born Nov. 4, 1962, to Roger Leroy Quam and Sharon Marie (Johannes) Quam in Nevada. Denny graduated from Creston High School in 1981.

On Dec. 18, 1982, Denny was united in marriage to Lisa Ann Stewart in Creston. Born to this union was their son Derek. They settled in Creston and moved to Arizona in 1985 to start a new journey. They returned to Creston in October 1988 to raise chickens for Campbell’s Soup. Denny enjoyed custom family farming and trucking with his father and brother.

In November 2003, Denny built their house near the family farm and started an ag feed hauling business. He got his pilot’s license in 2007 and continued trucking while enjoying flying. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Cromwell Church, YMCA, Aircraft Owner and Pilots Association, National Impala Association and was a member of the Tennis Club in Red Oak for five years.

Survivors include his wife Lisa Quam of Creston; son Derek (Elizabeth) Quam of Boone; his parents, Roger (Sharon) Quam of Creston; five grandchildren: Darian, Shaun, Nayeli, Jace and Ryla; sister Lori Quam of Creston; his brothers, Steve Quam of Creston and Rick Quam of Manning, South Carolina; his nephew Blake Quam of Fontanelle; three nieces: Kinleigh, Kaelynn and Kadee and many friends.

Denny was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Carolyn (Stewart) Brown; father-in-law Frank Stewart and his grandparents.
