Kelly Diane Turner, daughter of Michael E. Turner and Jane Diane (Sturgis) Moffitt was born Sept. 11, 1970, in Creston. She graduated from Creston Community High School in 1990. Kelly loved to babysit for others whenever she was able.

Kelly was a lifelong resident of Creston. She was well known and enjoyed time with her friends and family and always had a cheerful smile and boisterous laugh. Following graduation, she began working with Innovative Industries as part of the night business cleaning crew. She also worked for I Think I Can Day Care Center, later going to work at the Southern Prairie YMCA. She was also a housekeeper at Super 8 Motel. Kelly was a very dedicated worker and tried to go to work, even in harsh weather.

When Kelly needed a hand, her job-coach helped to create a new position for her cleaning in the office at Innovative Industries, which was followed by Iowa Focus. She enjoyed her work very much and she also spent time in day-hab with many friends. During these years, her friends and special family grew rapidly from many interactions while seeing her on one of her numerous scooter rides around the neighborhood, sitting with her at the crafting table or even watching Baylor or LSU ladies basketball.

She was an active member of the United Church of Christ - Congregational Church where she ran the PowerPoint and made copies when needed. Kelly enjoyed bowling and going on league tournament trips, Special Olympics trips, where she participated in the softball throw, playing bingo, attending camp at Camp Sunnyside or watching classic TV including “Mama’s Family” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” One of her other favorite activities was attending the Iowa State Fair and attending country concerts, particularly Lorrie Morgan and The Judds.

Kelly is survived by her mother Jane Moffitt of Creston; her father Mike Turner; aunt Chris of California; her grandmother Ruby Turner of Creston; her special family and friends.

Kelly was preceded in death by her brother Brad Turner; grandparents Allen (Louise) Sturgis and Cleve Turner.
