Alan was born April 7, 1954, to Russell and Velma King in Mount Ayr. He graduated from Creston High School in 1972. Alan married Beth Novak in 1977. In their union, they had two children, Justan and Trisha.

There was no doubt he was a die hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. He also had a love for anything to do with old cars. You could spot him at the races with friends and car shows with his family. He also frequented Hi Crest Auto in Creston, where his friends there were like family to him. He looked forward to the days he would meet up with his coffee crew at Hardee’s, as well as see many other friends at Side Tracked.

In his lifetime, he worked for the GTE telephone company, Waste Management and retired from Southwestern Community College, where he made countless friends along the way. He will be missed by many.

Alan is survived by his children, Justan (Lisa) King and Trisha (Sonny) Warner; his two granddaughters, Nevaeh and Nova Warner; brother, Kenneth King (Joan) and nephew Jeffrey King.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Velma King and sister-in-law, Jolene King.
