Tim Shelley, 63, of Creston, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at her home in Creston.

Tim Shelley, 63, of Creston, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at his home in Creston. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate. The burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the family. Timothy James Shelley was born April 20, 1960, to Ronald Leroy Shelley and Beverly Ann (Peckham) Shelley in Guthrie Center. He grew up in Guthrie Center, Corning and Creston, moving to Creston in 1971. When Tim was young he enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his family. He graduated from Creston High School in 1978. Following high school, he was employed at Wellman Dynamics.

Tim was blessed with five children from his previous marriages from 1980-1993. After working for Wellman Dynamics, he began working for G&H Trucking in Greenfield. Following this job, he worked for Longfellow Construction for 14 years. He then returned to Wellman Dynamics where he retired from in spring 2023, after a total of 30 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR fan and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed coaching softball for many years, as well.

He was an active member of the Eagle’s Lodge of Creston and ABATE of Iowa and was a volunteer firefighter for Orient Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Shelley of Creston; his children: Cara (George) Duncan of Ankeny, Michael Shelley (Savannah Lee) of Nevada, Shaun (Jennifer) Shelley of Greenfield, Erin (Travis) Houseton of Council Bluffs and Megan Allen of Council Bluffs; his sister, Diana (Dan) Curtis of Creston; along with his four grandchildren: Ainsley Houseton, Edward Truitt, Aliyah Shelley and Arthur Duncan.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Debbie Shelley in 2013.
