Frank “Duane” White, 92, of Creston, died Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. No services are to be held. A private family burial will be in West Fairview Cemetery in Lenox.

Frank Duane White was born June 8, 1931, the youngest of seven children to Frank G. and Ethel Viola (Gray) White north of Kent. He graduated from Cromwell High School with the class of 1949. Duane served his country as a part of the United States Army from 1952 to 1954.

Following his return home he farmed with his father in the Kent area until 1972. Duane then worked for SIRWA in Creston until 1992 and later lived one year in Colorado running the Front Range Flea Market, the largest indoor flea market east of the Rocky Mountains. After returning to Creston, he worked at the post office running The Star route from 1993 until 2004. He also worked for the Department of Agriculture in weights and measures.

Duane is survived by his nieces and nephews: Patty (Marvin) Crouse, Richard White, Verline (Gail) Schwab, Karla McAllister, Shirley Rupert and Jane White (Keith Hoepker); along with many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews and special friends Sandy Webb, Ed Miller and Chad Parker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Don (Velma), Wray (Ina) and Leo White; three sisters: Opal (Clifford) Jackson, Margaret Bucklew and Marjory Proffitt; nephews, Francis (Martha) White, Steve White, Franklin White and a niece Janet Weisshaar.
