Dr. Julia Zhu, neurologist, has started at GRH. Liz Hensley, formerly in Urgent Care, has returned to take over for Dr. Walker. Dr. Walker is covering the Mount Ayr clinic three days a week until July.

Recruitment is continuing for positions in family practice, OBGYN and internal medicine. The proposed four-plexes on Adams Street are on hold at this time. The Highway 34 building is busy with the visiting doctors, public health and the spa. Marketing will be moving to rented space downtown.

The house at 100 S. Sumner St., was deemed not viable and will be coming down.

Inflation has caused the Event Center plans to be pushed back as those funds are needed for the lab relocation and remodel. Upgraded utility plant space will be at the top of the list. About 4,000 square feet needs to be added to the south end of the building.

The child care building is coming along with a projected completion date of March or April 2023. State matching funds of $500,000 have been received, along with several sizeable business donations. 2026 will find GRH debt free. There hasn’t been a tax increase from GRH in 20 years.

The public library has expressed an interest in using space in the old Walmart building.

The financial report was approved. A linen sale is tentatively scheduled for April.
