Paul Jameson, 67, of Creston, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. Memorial services will be 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the Creston High School Auditorium. Pastor Evan McVann of Salem Lutheran Church will officiate. Paul was cremated and will be laid to rest in the Ottumwa Cemetery in Ottumwa at a later date. Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

Paul Alan Jameson was born July 30, 1956, the son of Jim and Jackie (Bragg) Jameson in Ottumwa. The family moved from Ottumwa to Osceola in 1969. Paul graduated from Clarke Community School with the class of 1974, and Southwestern Community College in 1976 and then earned his bachelor degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1979. Paul earned his master’s degree later in life from Viterbo University.

Mr. Jameson began his long career in education teaching in the Orient-Macksburg School and working in various schools throughout Southwest Iowa, including Creston Public Schools and SWCC, over his 42 plus-year career. Mr. Jameson taught math, computer science and driver’s education. He touched the lives of countless students and co-workers along the way and was widely known for his generosity.

Paul is survived by his sister, Mary (Tom) Werner of Murray; his brother, David (Helen) Jameson of Nixa, Missouri; his father, Jim Jameson of Osceola; two nephews: T.J. (Katie) Werner of Bondurant and Jeffrey Werner of Murray; niece, Katie Werner of Osceola and grand-nieces and -nephews: Logan Werner of Dallas Center, Grace Werner of Bondurant, Ethan Werner of Bondurant, Owen Werner of Bondurant, Drake Werner of Murray, Cora Werner and Max Werner, both of Bondurant.

Preceding Paul in death were his mother, Jackie Jameson and great-nephew, Gavin Werner.
