Laughs coming to WCC stage

Need a good laugh? The Warren Cultural Center can help with that with its second show of the 2023-24 “Locals and Legends” series, consisting of three comedians 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

Zach Peterson has made a name for himself around the country, from Alaska to Florida, for being “an affable oddball” with razor-sharp jokes, heading both clubs and festivals alike. Out of Omaha, after spending time in Chicago and Los Angeles, Peterson has been called “one of the funniest performers around” by Minneapolis’s City Pages. His first album “Midwestern Jokes for the Americas” debuted in the top five on the iTunes Comedy Charts in 2018 and is currently on Sirius XM radio.

Melanie Mackey is a Des Moines based comedian. She co-hosts the weekly Premier Open Mic at Teehee’s Comedy Club in Des Moines. She has performed stand up comedy across the Midwest and was voted Third Funniest Person in Iowa in 2022.

Omaha’s Tyler Walsh has a way of making his singular rural Midwestern upbringing universal to eclectic crowds. Whether it’s a top tier comedy club, the Todd and Tyler Radio Empire or his substantial TikTok following, Walsh gains fans at an exponential rate. You’ve never met anyone like him, but you’ll feel like you’ve known him forever.

Tickets are $20 for adults with free admission for students (high school and younger) at warrenculturalcenter.com or at the door.
