As I pull up to the stop lights, I’m facing east on Adams Street in front of the depot and I look north at the building on the alley that says “You’re beautiful.”
What I’d like to see there is some things Creston is famous for. Creston had some famous people here, such as Marsha Wallace the actress, Walter Cunningham [his] space program, the list goes on. Also one could put the Round House, Corn Palace or the railroad, etc. The list is endless. Marsha’s parents “Poke Wallace” owned Wallace drug store. They were pillars of the community. I like Tyler Downey’s painting on the side of the old Fareway building. It makes you feel like you’re part of that scene. That other building on the alley to showcase Creston would really make that area of uptown stand out.
