The third session in a three-part series, Understanding Dementia, will be presented at Homestead Assisted Living in Creston 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17. The third session is entitled Hospice Support: When is it Time? As the series has been dealing specifically with patients with dementia, this session will discuss signs and symptoms of the disease progression that indicate that hospice services would be beneficial. Others who are interested in learning about hospice services would also benefit from the session.
This educational series is presented by Care Initiatives Hospice with Susan Finehout, Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse, providing the instruction. The event is free to the public and no registration is necessary. Due to response to this series, Homestead Assisted Living staff is researching other educational topics to provide for the community.
