GREENFIELD – What can you buy for under $15? Fifteen Adair County 4-H’ers have accepted the $15 challenge putting together an outfit by shopping at garage sales and consignment stores.
The 4-H’ers are prepared to show the audience their outfits at the Adair County Fair fashion show on Thursday, July 20. Senior 4-H’er Riley Lonsdale will be modeling her outfit purchased at Country Consignments for $10. The purpose of the division is to encourage youth to seek out good buys outside of the traditional retail outlets.
Also competing in this division are Dakota Hughes, Hannah Jorgensen, Marissa Christensen, Sadie Marnin, Brooklyn Sammons, Jill Wallace, Halee Wallace, Maggie Maas, Jennifer Holliday, Jessica Huff, Riley McCall, Caidynce Schwartz, Ellie Brewer, Kerrigan Brown, Lily Day, Abby Engles, Levi Gettler, Terrin Gettler, Jorja Holliday, Rose Lonsdale, Megan McCall, Taylor Day and Carli Stuva.
The style show slated for 7 p.m. Thursday, July 20, in the 4-H and FFA Center will also feature five models wearing outfits they have constructed. Youth will be modeling a wide variety of items. Jessica Huff did not let lack of experience hold her back, and Sadie Marnin, Brenna Bruns, Abby Christensen and Terrin Gettler will also be modeling in the fashion revue division.
Twenty-seven youth will model in the traditional clothing selection event. Kate Jensen, Jill Wallace, Katie Walter, Brooklyn Sammons, Riley Lonsdale, Halee Wallace, Sadie Marnin, Micahla Stull, Hannah Jorgensen, Rachel Bruns, Lauren Huff, Maggie Maas, Dakota Hughes, Jessica Huff, Jennifer Holliday, Riley McCall, Erin Ford, Rose Lonsdale, Abby Christensen, Madison Christensen, Abby Engles, Hope Kading, Jorja Holliday, Levi Gettler, Lily Day, Carli Stuva and Kamryn Nourse will round out the models in clothing selection.
Throughout the style show Thursday evening, the top winner in each age division will be announced along with the names of the youth to represent Adair County at the Iowa State Fair awardrobe clothing event.
