DES MOINES – The Iowa Junior Beef Breeds Association (IJBBA) presented their year-end awards Feb. 18 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines to members who accumulated the greatest number of points in a given year in each breed and showmanship. The show year runs from the Winter Expo (February) to the first Monday of August. The showmanship contest is divided into two divisions: junior (13 years and younger) and senior (14-21 years old) as of Jan. 1. Shows are put on throughout the state under the IJBBA sanction.
This year, Creston was well represented by two junior youths. Tyler Loudon of Creston was the champion junior showmanship exhibitor and Sammi Long of Creston was the reserve champion junior showmanship exhibitor. They each received a belt buckle from the IJBBA at the awards ceremony.
