AGRILAND FS, Inc., a locally-owned cooperative, has announced that Jacob Powers, son of Kendall and Ann Marie Powers of Creston, has been awarded one of the $1,000 scholarships from the Agriland FS Foundation. Powers plans to attend Southwestern Community College to study agricultural business.
Six scholarships were awarded across the AGRILAND FS geography to graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a career in agriculture. The scholarships were established by the Agriland FS Foundation, a non-profit entity funded by shareholder contributions and the cooperative itself.
“This is a great opportunity for the Agriland FS Foundation to invest in the education of our future generation of leaders who are selecting agriculture as a career,” said John Knobloch, AGRILAND FS general manager. “We are extremely pleased to sponsor these six young men and women that are so deserving.”
AGRILAND FS is a locally-owned cooperative serving the agronomy, seed, petroleum, and propane needs of growers throughout the southern one-third of Iowa and northern Missouri.
