COUNCIL BLUFFS — Creston volleyball (4-2) was on the road Tuesday in a Hawkeye 10 triangular with Atlantic (8-6) and Lewis Central (7-5) in Council Bluffs.
The Panthers came out 1-1 four-set loss to the Titans and a five-set win over Atlantic. Despite winning the first set against Lewis Central, the Titans came back to win out.
Lewis Central
Against the Titans, it was a narrow 25-23 victory for Creston in set one. From there, the Titans dominated, winning 25-14, 25-15 and 25-10.
Senior Jaycee Hanson led the team with 19 kills. She was assisted by Kadley Bailey with 46 sets. On defense, Avery Staver logged 37 digs while at the net, Braylee Pokorny and Hope Henderson each had two blocks.
Senior Hollynn Rieck added 12 kills and 16 digs. Hanson had 19 digs and a block.
The Panthers served seven aces — three from Bailey, two from Henderson and one each from Staver and Nora Barton.
Atlantic
Creston squeezed out a victory over the Trojans, winning the first two sets 25-21 and 26-24. Atlantic won two in a row to force a fifth set. The Panthers came away with a 15-9 victory to take the H10 win.
Hanson again led the team on offense with nine kills. She was assisted by Bailey who put up 21 sets. On defense, Staver logged 21 digs. Bailey and Hanson had 10 and 12, respectively.
From the service line, Staver put up two aces. Bailey, Ella Turner and Henderson each had one.
Creston is on the road the entire month of September. They continue Hawkeye 10 play Thursday at Denison-Schleswig.
