Undefeated league champion Creston placed three players on the All-Hawkeye Ten Conference first team, and had six players honored overall in all-conference selections released Tuesday night by the conference.
Senior catcher Ava Adamson was one of three unanimous first-team selections. The others were Atlantic junior catcher Lila Wiederstein and Lewis Central junior shortstop Aubree Davis, who transferred from Florida, where she was all-state.
Adamson, also one of the top defensive catchers in southwest Iowa, was a force at the top of the Panthers’ offense, batting .455 with eight home runs, 41 runs scored and 29 RBIs. She struck out only seven times in 110 at-bats. She was also successful on 16 of 18 stolen base attempts.
Other Panthers selected to the first team were junior second baseman Avery Staver and senior pitcher Taryn Fredrickson. Batting behind Adamson at the top of the Panther lineup, Staver led the team in batting average (.470), home runs (14) runs scored (46) and tied teammate Jersey Foote for the RBI lead (34). Her 14 home runs is second all-time in Creston for a season, behind Nevaeh Randall’s 21 in 2023. She was also 12-12 in stolen bases.

Fredrickson was an offensive producer in Creston’s potent lineup in addition to excelling as a pitcher for the Panthers, who went 20-0 in league play. She batted .438 with three home runs and 33 RBIs. In the circle, Fredrickson was dominant with a 27-4 record, 1.43 ERA, 250 strikeouts and opponents’ batting average of .155. She led Class 4A in wins and ranked second in strikeouts behind Braylen Conlon of Cedar Rapids Xavier with 290.
Seniors Jersey Foote and Evy Marlin represent Creston on the all-conference second team.
Foote, Creston’s center fielder, had impressive range as a defensive outfielder in addition to producing in the No. 4 slot in Creston’s batting order. Foote batted .355 this season with eight home runs, 34 RBIs and 32 runs scored. Marlin batted .421 with three home runs, 30 RBIs and 36 runs scored. Marlin was 19-19 in steals and Foote was 16-18.
Junior first baseman Jaycee Hanson earned all-conference honorable mention. Hanson batted .420 with seven home runs, 25 RBIs and 26 runs scored.

Atlantic, second behind Creston in the conference at 17-3, had four players on the first team and eight players honored overall. Lewis Central had three first-teamers, Clarinda had two players on the first unit, and Denison-Schleswig, Glenwood, Shenandoah and St. Albert each had one.
