Creston soccer places four on all-conference teams

Creston sophomore Joaquin Flores earned first-team all-conference honors as a striker/midfielder for the 2025 season.

Four Panther athletes earned Hawkeye 10 All-Conference honors because of their stellar performance during the spring soccer season.

Joaquin Flores earned first-team all conference after an impressive sophomore campaign as a striker/midfielder.

Flores tied for second for most goals in the Hawkeye 10 with 23. His 59 shots on goal were the third highest in the conference.

His shot-to-goal percentage of 35.4% is the second highest.

Flores earned honorable-mention honors as a freshman.

Earning a spot on second-team all conference is junior Lea Stonebraker, the Panthers’ goalie from Nodaway Valley.

Creston/NV goalkeeper Lea Stonebraker lunges for one of her 32 saves against Denison-Schleswig, a Nodaway Valley school record.

Stonebraker’s 185 saves this season was a new single-season school record for Nodaway Valley. This stat is second-best in the Hawkeye 10 behind the Denison-Schleswig goalie.

Stonebraker’s save percentage of 71.2% ranks her sixth in the conference.

Two athletes earned honorable mention spots -— junior Hector Suazo and senior Olivia Burwell.

Sophomore Hector Sauzo steals the ball from Lewis Central Titan Daniel Overall during the 10-0 loss April 23.

Suazo earned his spot as a center back. He started 16 games this season and logged one goal on three shots.

Burwell had the second-most goals for the Panthers this season with six. She had 17 shots on goal and two assists.

Olivia Burwell of Creston scores the first goal during a 7-0 win over Greene County in Saturday's Panther Invitational. Burwell scored twice and had a team-high six shots on goal in the win.

With a fairly young team this season, the Panthers graduate just three girls and two boys.
