After taking down Atlantic 7-0 at home in the first round of substate soccer Tuesday, the Panthers (6-9) are headed to the Class 2A-7 semifinals in Gilbert next Tuesday.
Sophomore Joaquin Flores continued to shine against the Trojans, scoring four goals on seven shots on goal.
The offense kept possession of the ball for a majority of the game, leaving goalie Baret Lane with a perfect game, logging one save and allowing no goals.
Other goals were scored by sophomores Carlos Page and Davin Wallace and freshman Josh Anderson.
As the season winds down, Flores’s 23 goals are the 13th-highest in all classes in the state and comes in sixth in class 2A.
Flores also leads the Panthers in assists with eight.
Sophomore Jace Purdum has the second most goals and assists for the Panthers this season with six and six.
In goal, Lane has logged 81 saves and allowed 32 goals.
The winner of the Creston and Gilbert game will advance to face the winner of Grinnell and Des Moines Christian.
