Despite a number of close matches, the Panthers were swept 9-0 by visiting Boone Monday during senior night.
Before the competition, Creston honored its five seniors -— Ava Adamson, Taryn Fredrickson, Jana Peavler, Taylor Smith and Sasha Wurster.
Many of the bouts went to 11 or more games as the Panthers fought to keep the score close.
In No. 1 singles, Adamson battled with Kaylee Kuehl for 13 games before falling 8-5.
In No. 2 singles, Wurster had a 4-3 lead before her opponent Livi Schneider swept the remaining five games, winning 8-4.
In No. 5 singles, Creston freshman Shaylee Coen went to extra games against Ally Thompson, eventually losing 9-7.
Hollynn Rieck lost 8-2 in No. 3 singles, Kennedy Strider was shut out 8-0 at No. 4 and Marlee Stalker fell 8-3 at No. 6.
“Tonight was a tough for us versus Boone; unfortunately, we were unable to win a match,” Creston coach Kevin Cooper said. “It will be nice for the girls to have a day with no competition on Tuesday and then the Hawkeye 10 on Wednesday.”
In doubles, Rieck and Wurster fell 8-5 to Kuehl and Scneider. Adamson and Strider lost 8-4 and freshmen duo Coen and Stalker were defeated 8-3.
The H10 tournament begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Atlantic.
