Thursday, the Panther boys tennis team held senior night to honor Spencer Brown and Damien Flores.
The team fell 9-0 to a talented Shenandoah lineup.
“Today we were obviously outmatched,” Creston coach Kevin Cooper said. “Shenandoah is a very experienced team so it was good for our kids to play them. Shenandoah is probably the best team we have seen this year and are always well coached.”
The only Panther to not be swept 8-0 in singles was No. 5 Dylan Dornack who was able to put up one point against senior Drew Morelock.
In doubles, Brown and Wyatt Hitz lost 8-2; Carson Beer and Dornack lost 8-1 and Wesley Wires and Tim Barnett were shut out 8-0.
Friday the boys played at Clarinda in a makeup game but were missing two players due to the pops concert.
The Cardinals shut out the Panthers 9-0.
Dornack and Flores scored the most points, falling 8-2 to their opponents.
Freshman Adam Thompson and Wesley Wires each lost 8-1.
In doubles, the duo of Wires and Barnett fell 8-2 while Brown and Dornack scored once in an 8-1 loss.
“We were missing a few in our lineup and ended up playing just varsity only due to the amount of players we had available,” Cooper said.
The Panthers played in the Hawkeye 10 tournament in Carroll Monday. Results not available by press time.
Tuesday the team plays in Ballard.
