Tuesday, the Panthers hosted Chariton in a girls golf dual. With only three golfers, Creston didn’t put up a team score, giving Chariton the win.
On the individual front, it was a great day for senior Averi Culbertson who came away with a victory on senior night.
Both Culbertson and Elsie Arnold of Chariton scored 53. Culbertson edged out Arnold with a win on the second handicap hole.
Freshman Ricci Johnson placed fifth, scoring 58 while sophomore Nora Barton took eighth with a 69.
The girls host Red Oak Monday.
Boys
While the girls competed at home, the boys traveled to Honey Creek State Park for a tournament hosted by Centerville.
The Panthers finished fourth in the seven-team field, scoring 347. They beat Moravia by only one stroke.
Junior Marshall Long led the Panthers with a 79, tying for sixth. He shot 40 on the front nine and 39 on the back.
Junior Chasse Downing was next, tying for 10th with an 82. Kylen Parsons (92), Branden Spencer (94) and Garrett Troutwine (96) finished 26th, 27th and 28th, respectively. Ethan Holliday rounded out the team with a 117.
Albia won the tournament with a 307.
The boys host Red Oak Monday.
