Panther bowlers take on Shenandoah, Knoxville

Creston Panther bowlers competed against Shenandoah and Knoxville last week losing both matchups.

Played Jan. 26 at Oskaloosa, against Knoxville, Creston boys came up short 2,527 to 2,226. In round one, Creston scored 1,519. The Panthers were lead by Luke McElwain with a 380. He was followed by Brett Orr, 339; Caden Briner, 281; William Nutt, 260; Stephen Sistad, 259.

Knoxville’s highest round one individual score was 426. Three others scored in the 300s.

In the baker rotation, Knoxville finished with 799 to Creston’s 707.

Knoxville girls defeated Creston 1,938 to 1,709.

Creston’s girls scored 1,119 in the first round and Knoxville scored 1,303. Leading the way for Creston was Jana Peaver with 298. She was followed by Jenna Orr, 224; Mica Andreasen, 220; Graceliegh Bolinger, 216 and Paytin Smith, 161.

Knoxville’s top first-round score was 364.

In the baker round, Knoxville scored 635 to Creston’s 590.

On Jan. 23, Creston bowlers played Shenandoah at Atlantic. Shenandoah won both matches.

In the boys action, Shenandoah won 2,918 to 2,146. In the first round the Mustangs scored 1,986 to Creston’s 1,504.

Orr was high scorer for Creston with 397. He was followed by McElwain, 329; Cash Abildtrup, 287; Briner, 254; Drake Rehmeyer, 237 and Sistad, 179. Shenandoah’s highest first round score was 445.

In the baker round, Shenandoah scored 932 to Creston’s 642.

The Fillies defeated the Creston girls 2,375 to 1,689.

First round action had Shenandoah winning 1,586 to 1,040. Top score for Creston was Andreasen with 260. She was followed by Orr, 227; Peavler, 213; Bolinger, 192 and Smith, 148. Shenandoah’s top score in the first round was 356.

Creston scored 649 in the baker round to Shenandoah’s 789.

Creston played Southeast Warren Monday and are scheduled Thursday at Lewis Central.
