Former Iowa State University offensive lineman Trevor Downing of Creston will play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl this weekend.
The game will be played Saturday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and broadcast on NFL Network at 5 p.m. (CST).
Downing was a three-time All-Big 12 offensive lineman for the Cyclones, including second-team honors while playing center for the first time in his career last season. He was on the Rotary Lombardi, Outland and Rimington trophy watch lists as a senior. He was also named to the Big 12 All-Academic team.
Downing started 38 games in his career and anchored an offensive line that averaged 369.8 yards and passed for 261.8 yards in 2022, the third-best mark in school history.
Teammate Anthony Johnson Jr. joins Downing in Saturday’s all-star game.
Downing, a graduate of Iowa State, has been training for the NFL draft in Florida with the Ascend Athletics agency.
