Sistad leads Hwy 34 to fourth-place finish

COUNCIL BLUFFS - The Highway 34 wrestlers boasted 15 pins out of 25 total matches at the Bill Smith Battle in the Bluffs Monday.

Savannah Sistad, back from injury, led the girls, placing first at 235 and scoring 20 of the team’s 70 points.

Jaycee Fitzgerald took silver at 105-pounds after pinning three of her four opponents. Fitzgerald added 12 points for the team.

Finishing third was Quynn Foster at 110. After losing her first round, Foster logged three back-to-back pins to score 15 for the team.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton took the win with 96 points, Missouri Valley placed second with 93 and Carroll got third with 90 points.

The Highway 34 wrestlers compete at regionals Friday at the Iowa Events Center.
