Spartan men win over Simpson

Devin Tomlinson’s 22 points and Khayden Hooks’ 15 points off the bench helped Southwestern help the Spartans win 74-62 Friday, Jan. 13 over the Simpson junior varsity.

Tomlinson was 8-11 from the field and made all six of his free throws. He also finished with eight rebounds. Hooks was 6-10 from the field and made all three of his free throws.

Joel Villanueva also scored double digits with 10. He mad two 3-point shots. Brance Baker had eight points.

Southwestern was up 31-29 at halftime.

The Spartans are 6-12 and play 1 p.m. Saturday vs. Iowa Central in Creston. Southwestern travels to Northeast Community (Nebraska) for a 7 p.m. game Monday.
