Another title for boys wrestling

OTTUMWA — With nearly a 50-point lead on second place, the Creston boys wrestling team took home a commanding win Saturday at the Ottumwa Invitational.

The Panthers had two individual champions in Christian Ahrens (23-2) at 120-pounds and Will Bolinger (21-5) at 160-pounds.

Austin Evans (5-1) at 138, Chris Aragon (16-5) at 145, Kaden Street (23-4) at 170 and Max Chapman (19-6) at 285 all took silver in their weight classes.

The Panthers had 29 pins in the tournament, Bolinger having four in his five matches — the other match a medical forfeit.

Placing third was Trey Chesnut (20-4) at 132.

The Panthers return to action 10 a.m. Saturday as they host the Creston Invitational. Participating teams are Bondurant-Farrar, Boone Central, Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, Crestwood, Earlham, Howard-Winneshiek, Interstate, Lenox, Mount Vernon, North Polk, Northfield, Riverside Community Schools and Treynor.
