4 Panther baseballers named All-Hawkeye 10

Four Creston baseball players were named to All-Hawkeye 10 teams released last Tuesday.

Gannon Greenwalt was listed as a first team centerfielder, Cael Turner was listed as a second team shortstop, pitcher and utility alongside his first cousin Kyle Strider who is featured as a second team catcher and on the honorable mention team was Dylan Hoepker.

Greenwalt went 29-of-31 in his fielding of batted balls during the 2022 season. Greenwalt led the Panthers with both his batting average of .429 and his RBI tally of 22. Gannon stole a team high 18 bases on 22 attempts.

Turner opened the season with a pair of home runs at Carlisle and finished the season with a team high .518 slugging percentage. Turner also led the team with 61 strikeouts pitched. Turner was 93-of-100 in his fielding. Cael successfuly stole 17-of-19 bases.

Strider threw out 23 runners stealing from his role behind the plate, a mark which had the junior tied with Daniel McGrath of St. Albert for most in both the Hawkeye 10 Conference and the state in all classes.

Hoepker struck out 39 opponents in 41 innings. Additionally, Hoepker earned 10 runs.
