Creston’s record shifted to 7-9 after a 6-5 win and a 12-2 loss to the Kuemper Catholic Knights on Monday.
Dylan Hoepker tallied a trio of RBIs in the first game.
“It was good to come out and attack them in game one,” coach Brandon Phipps said. “Parker Varner great a great job for us on the hill to get the W. Sam Henry and Dylan Hoepker helped us with a few huge RBI hits.”
Creston’s bats went quiet in the second game.
“Our goal was to get two from them but their offensive fire power was too much to overcome in game two,” Phipps said.
Even in the loss, there is a silver lining, which comes in the form of saving arms for two conference games against Glenwood and Red Oak.
“Positive situation we split with a good team and managed our pitching well enough to be ready to go against two good conference opponents this week,” Phipps said.”
