Two Nodaway Valley girls basketball players have received all-state honors from the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association on teams that were released last week.
Senior guard Maddax DeVault is a first team honoree with Wilton senior Kelsey Drake, Dike-New Hartford sophomore Payton Petersen, Sumner-Fredericksburg senior Morgan Brandt, Louisa-Muscatine senior Kaylee Corbin, Sibley-Ocheydan junior Madison Brouwer, West Hancock senior Kennedy Kelly and Central Lyon junior Addison Klosterbuer.
DeVault scored 542 points, 22.6 per game; was the Pride of Iowa Conference leader with 190 field goals made and 436 attempted; and made a league-best 63 long-range shots.
During the course of the season, DeVault broke several Nodaway Valley records, including career scoring (1,807 points), career steals (286), 3s in a season (197) and the career 3s percentage (34.6%). She finishes seventh all-time in career rebounds (423) and eighth all-time in career assists (183).
Wolverine sophomore guard Lindsey Davis made the IPSWA third team.
Davis was second on the team, just behind DeVault, in assists (73). She averaged 15.8 points per game. She averaged three assists and 4.5 steals per game. She broke the single game record for steals in a game this season and also broke the single season record for steals. She was top-5 in the Pride of Iowa Conference in field goal makes and attempts per game.
Second team members were Denver senior Reese Johnson, Mediapolis seinor Hallie Mohr, Panorama senior Payton Beckman, Cascade senior Ally Hoffman, Underwood senior Kendra Kuck, Dike-New Hartford junior Ellary Knock, South Central Calhoun junior Riley Batta and West Branch senior Dlaynie Luneckas.
On the third team with Davis were Grundy Center senior Lainy Thoren, Osage junior Claudia Aschenbrenner, Denver junior Grace Hennessy, West Hancock sophomore Mallory Leerar, Treynor junior Clara Teigland, Central Lyon junior Desta Hoogendoorn and MFL-Mar-Mac senior Riley Moreland.
