Creston senior centre midfielder Aidan Anderson, who led the team with 27 goals during the 2021 season, inked with Northwestern College during a signing ceremony with his family on Tuesday.
Anderson will be pursuing a degree in nursing while up in Orange City.
“The campus was super nice [and] up to date,” Anderson said. “My whole family basically has gone through nursing so it’s in the blood.”
Creston soccer head coach Chad Malmanger is excited for his senior athlete.
“He’s got a great opportunity to expand his horizons and further his career, I’m excited for the young lad,” Malmanger said.
Malmanger, who is entering into his second full season as head coach of the Panthers, is fond of the leadership Anderson provides on the pitch.
“Aidan is a do by example,” Malmanger said. “He doesn’t really say much during practice he’d rather show what we as a coaching staff want. He can do everything we want as a coaching staff very well.”
Creston opens their season on the road at Hawkeye 10 foe Denison-Schleswig on April 1 at 5 p.m.
“Looking forward to my last season, hopefully make it a good one,” Anderson said.
