Creston tunes up at Atlantic Cross Country Invite

ATLANTIC – Creston’s cross country teams hit the trails at Atlantic’s meet last Thursday in order to get ready for postseason meets.

“The Atlantic Meet always has great competition and is a good way for us to prepare for the Hawkeye 10 Meet,” head coach Maggie Arnold said. “We saw familiar faces at the meet as well as some new teams that we had not yet competed against.”

Riley DeGonia and Riley Wipperman were the first Panthers across the line in the girls and boys races respectively.

Emma Pantini, who finished 51st with a time of 23:38.80, stuck out to coach Arnold.

“Pantini continues to run strong and competed hard for the team,” coach Arnold said about the junior.

With the Hawkeye 10 meet being run this afternoon in Glenwood, this team is clicking at just the right time.

“We are prepared and running our best right in time for the championship portion of the season,” coach Arnold said.
