Panthers take girls golf conference title

Driskell wins, two others medal

CRESTON — Rylie Driskell carded an 18-hole score of a 41-39 80 Monday at Nishna Hills Golf Course to lead her Creston/O-M girls golf team to a Hawkeye 10 Conference title.

Driskell was medalist, finishing four strokes under second place. Maria Groumoutis was fifth overall with 90 and Mikaela Downing 11th with 93.

Finishing out Creston’s scorecard was Jacy Kralik’s 54-53 107, Amiya Watkins’ 53-55 108 and Kate Foglesong’s 62-62 124.

Creston posted a 370, which beats the team’s previous 18-hole best by 10 strokes, according to Varsity Bound.

“What an exciting day for the girls team to win the Hawkeye 10,” said Creston/O-M golf coach John Thomson. “It was truly a team effort for the girls. This is great momentum for us; what a great team win.”

Atlantic was second with 382, Glenwood third with 391, and Shenandoah (400), Lewis Central (405) and Denison-Schleswig (405) rounded out the top five.
