INDIANOLA — Simpson College senior and Creston native Jenna Taylor received the Division III womens basketball All-West Regional Player of the Year Award this week following the Storm’s season.
Taylor, a 6-foot forward, averaged a team-high 20.1 points per game in her second senior season. She averaged 31.6 minutes per game in an abbreviated 12-game season in which the Storm were 12-0. She was 56.7% shooting from the field, and at the free throw line, she shot 85%.
Simpson ended up being an offensive juggernaut this season, averaging 84.7 points per game.
“I’m just really honored and humbled to receive an award like this,” Taylor said. “I think it’s a testament to the awesome season we had and how hard we all worked the last six months.”
