Six area players were featured on the 2021 Bluegrass all-conference boys basketball team.
One area player was featured on the first team as Colton Siefkas from Murray was picked. Siefkas was a unanimous selection for first-team.
The Mustangs’ leading scorer tallied 299 points, putting him third in the conference. He grabbed 133 rebounds (fourth in the Bluegrass), assisted 52 scores and racked up 40 steals.
Second team
Murray added two more players to the all-conference team with Jace Rodecker and Christian Nevarez getting named to the second team.
Rodecker’s season ended with him scoring 159 points on 49% shooting. He grabbed 112 rebounds, assisted 32 points and had a team-high 20 blocks.
Nevarez scored 176 points on 43.3% shooting. He was second on the team in assists, trailing by one, with 51. He led the club in steals with 45 and grabbed 39 boards.
Honorable mention
Brycen Wookey was the fourth Mustang selected to all-conference, this time as a honorable mention.
Wookey, playing in 21 games and starting 21, scored 138 points on 37.5% shooting. He had 62 rebounds, 37 assists and 30 steals.
Blake Thompson was the lone Orient-Macksburg product to get selected to all-conference, cracking the list as an honorable mention.
Thompson led the Bulldogs in scoring with 158 points on 23.7% shooting from the field. He led the club in both assists (49) and steals (17).
Diagonal’s lone selection was Caleb Hubbard, cracking the list as an honorable mention.
The sophomore led the team with 148 points on 49.6% shooting. He also had 120 rebounds and 10 blocks, both second most on the team, and 35 steals, the most on the team.
