Boys outmatched at H10 tennis tournament

Creston takes fourth at H10 tournament

CARROLL — It was a tough day for the Panthers boys tennis team Monday at the Hawkeye 10 tournament in Carroll.

Creston didn’t score any points after losing all eight bouts.

Winning the tournament was Shenandoah with 28 points. Kuemper Catholic placed second with 23.

In No. 1 singles, Spencer Brown lost 8-3 to Brennan Anderson of Glenwood and 8-2 to Kinnick Juhl of Atlantic.

At No. 2, Wyatt Hitz fell 8-1 to Max Hubbard of Lewis Central and 8-2 to Karson Schulz of Denison.

In doubles, the top team of Wesley Wires and Tim Bartlett lost 8-1 to the Lewis Central duo of Evan Clifton and Leyton Edwards. Against Sawyer Scheffeld and McCoy Daley of Saint Albert, they lost in a close 8-5 set.

The No. 2 doubles team, Carson Beer and Dylan Dornack, fell 8-2 in both matches. The first was against Ethan Strunk and Dylan Rydberg of Red Oak. The second was against the Harlan duo of Kobe Klaassen and Caden Herbst.
