Panther baseball drops doubleheader at Denison-Schleswig

DENISON - Creston struggled with productivity at the plate as it scored just three runs in a doubleheader loss Thursday at Denison-Schleswig.

In game one, a 10-3 loss, Creston scored its runs in the first three innings as it trailed the Monarchs 9-3 after the third inning.

As a team, Creston finished with 10 hits and drew four walks. Creston struck out four times. Cael Turner had three hits for the Panthers and a RBI. He also scored a run.

Turner was also on the mount for four innings and struck out two. Evan Bruce pitched two innings and struck out two. Denison-Schleswig finished with nine hits and drew five walks.

Game two was a 10-0 loss for the Panthers. The Monarchs scored eight in the second inning on the way to the win. Denison-Schleswig finished with 13 hits including two home runs and drew three walks. Statistics for Creston were not available.

Creston (6-18) hosts Shenandoah for a 7:30 p.m. game Monday, July 5.
