Creston softball blanks Glenwood

Gracie Hagle’s two hits and three RBIs highlighted Creston’s 7-0 win Tuesday over Glenwood.

The Panthers put up runs in the first and second innings, before a four-run fourth extended the lead.

Sophie Hagle had three RBIs. As a team, Creston finished with eight hits including two doubles and a triple. The Panthers only drew one walk but struck out six times. Creston had four stolen bases.

Keely Coen pitched for the Panthers and struck out five over seven innings. She only allowed three hits.

After last night, Creston is tied for third in the Hawkeye Ten with Denison-Schleswig. Both teams are at 7-3 in conference play. Atlantic leads conference play with a perfect 10-0. Creston and Denison-Schleswig are a game behind Harlan at 8-2.

Creston (10-9) travels to Red Oak for a 7:30 p.m. game Thursday. On Saturday, the Panthers play at Oskaloosa. The Panthers first game vs Fairfield is at 11 a.m. followed by a matchup with Knoxville at 2:30 p.m.
