Big innings cripple Lenox baseball at Roland-Story

Lenox lost both games of a doubleheader in similar fashion Tuesday at Roland-Story.

Game two’s 10-2 final was highlighted by the Norsemen’s six run fifth inning.

Lenox had trailed 3-2 before Roland-Story erupted in the fifth.

Roland-Story had a similar moment in its 7-4 game one win. Lenox led 4-3 before Roland-Story scored four in the sixth to take the lead.

Statistics for the Tigers were not available.

Lenox made quick work of Stanton in a 11-0 win Monday in Lenox.

The Tigers led 8-0 by the third and finished the game with three more in the fourth.

Johnathan Weaver had two hits and two RBIs for Lenox. Trenton Beck had two RBIs. As a team Lenox finished with eight hits and drew seven walks.

Keigan Kitzman struck out nine for Lenox.

A two-run ninth inning gave the Tigers a 10-9 win over CAM Thursday, June 10.

Lenox scored four in the seventh inning to tie the game at 8 and send it to extra innings.

Trenton Beck and Chase Johnston each had two hits for Lenox. Johnston had two RBIs. Beck had one.

Lenox finished with 10 hits and 11 strikeouts.

Keigan Kitzman and Trenton Black shared pitching duties. Kitzman went three innings and Beck threw five innings and struck out seven. CAM totaled 10 hits.

The Tigers scored in five of the seven innings in a 15-5 win June 8 at Bedford.

Lenox led 9-0 before Bedford’s first run came in the third inning. Bedford would finish with a four-run third inning.

Kitzman had two hits and a RBI. Johnston finished with a hit and two RBIs.

Team totals, Lenox finished with 11 hits and drew five walks. Lenox struck out four times. Bedford had three hits and had seven walks.

Walon Cook and Samson Adams shared pitching. Adams struck out three.

Lenox broke a 9-9 tie in the seventh inning to win 10-9 June 7 at Riverside.

After trailing 5-0 going into the fourth, Lenox responded with eight runs in the fourth to take the lead. But Riverside wouldn’t go away scoring two runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Riverside tied the game at 9 in the sixth.

Johnathan Weaver had two hits for Lenox. Trenton Beck had a hit. Keegan Christensen threw four innings and struck out eight Riverside batters.

Clarke visits Lenox (7-7) for a 5:30 p.m. game tonight. Lenox plays at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Martensdale-St. Marys. The Tigers play at noon, Saturday at Ankeny Christian.
