Brennen M. Weiland, 27, of Emmetsburg, was taken into custody 4:38 p.m. March 24, in the 300 block of South Walnut Street on a Woodbury County warrant for the charge of violation of parole and an additional charge of interference with official acts.
According to a Woodbury County report, on March 20 Weiland’s parole officer received a notification that Weiland had cut his GPS device while in a Sioux City residential treatment facility and was on escape status.
According to Creston Police, at approximately 4:38 p.m. March 24, Creston Police identified Weiland as a wanted person. Weiland then fled from officers on foot after a vehicle pursuit.
Weiland was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $20,000 cash-only and $300 cash or surety bonds.

Emily R. M. Dohrn, 23, of Afton, was taken into custody 5:48 p.m. March 24 in the 500 block of South Birch Street on the charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and eluding.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 4:38 p.m. officers attempted to stop a 2017 Ford Escape after it was observed crossing the center line on Highway 34 near South Division Street. Officers also believed a wanted male was in the vehicle.
The Escape did not stop and instead took off at a high rate of speed exceeding 25 mph over the posted speed limit on residential streets.
Officers identified the driver as Dohrn, and she also admitted to being the driver. The male passenger was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and told officers there was methamphetamine in the car. Officers located the vehicle and a probable cause search was conducted. A methamphetamine pipe with residue which field-tested positive for methamphetamine and a marijuana pipe were located in the vehicle.
Dohrn was transported to the Union County Jail where she was released from after posting $5,300 cash or surety bond.

Travis Q. Wambold, 49, of Creston, was taken into custody 10:01 p.m. March 24 at his residence on three Union County warrants for the charge of violation of probation.
According to a Department of Correctional services report, on Feb. 20, Wambold entered a guilty plea in three cases for the charges of domestic abuse by strangulation, felon in possession of a firearm and criminal mischief, third degree. He was ordered to report to the Department of Corrections within 48 hours of entering the plea to complete a pre-sentence investigation but did not.
Wambold was transported to the Union County Jail and held without bond until the next district court day.
