Creston Police: Creston teen flees from police after driving 85 mph in 35 mph zone

Adrian M. Lillie, 18, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:10 p.m. March 19, at Hi and Dry Road and 190th Street on a Union County warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while barred and new charges of eluding - speed over 25 mph over limit, possession of a controlled substance - marijuana, first offense, driving while barred - habitual offender and interference with official acts.

According to Creston Police reports, at approximately 12:58 p.m. officers initiated a traffic stop on Highway 34 of a 2008 Mazda MZ3 traveling 85 mph in a 35 mph. The Mazda had been reported driving recklessly.

The Mazda did not stop and instead accelerated and continued driving at a high rate of speed exceeding the posted speed limit by at least 25 mph.

Near the Creston Municipal Airport on 190th Street, the driver, later identified as Lillie, lost control of the Mazda and went into a ditch. Lillie exited the car and attempted to elude officers on foot. Officers chased Lillie and deployed Taser Energy weapons, striking Lillie, to take him into custody. Lillie was confirmed to have a barred driver’s license.

The odor of marijuana was detected coming from the Mazda which resulted in a probable cause search being conducted. A small amount of marijuana was found in the Mazda.

According to Union County District Court documents, Lillie was ordered to appear in court March 17 for an initial appearance on the original charge and did not.

Lillie was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $10,300 cash or surety bond.

Shaeina L. R. Allison, 37, of Creston, was taken into custody 7:02 p.m. March 19, at Howard and Pine streets on the charge of driving while suspended.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:26 p.m. Allison was observed driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. Allison’s driver’s license is suspended.

Allison was cited and released on a summons to appear.
